Last week, the Wakefield Rotary Club had a special guest, Keith Crisco, the NC Secretary of Commerce. He discussed many of the hot topics affecting our state both now and in the future. In fact, the top 3 industries in the state are:
- #1 is agriculture (no big surprise)
- #2 is forestry (again, no big surprise)
- #3 was a surprise! …tourism (visitors to the state spent a record $17 billion in 2010). NC ranks as the 6th most visited state in the country.
